MY STORY

With more than 10 years NHS experience, I am committed to helping my clients overcome illness, injury and anxiety so they can enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle.

Whether it’s recovering from injury, adapting to a life-changing health condition, or simply wanting to keep your fitness, my individually tailored 121 sessions or low-impact supportive exercise classes will soon have you on the move and help you achieve more than you might ever have thought possible.

STARTING OUT

After graduating with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, I secured a year’s placement in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. It was whilst there that I became interested in exercise rehabilitation and realised that this was the direction that I wanted to develop my career.

I went on to work for 10 years in the NHS as a Rehabilitation Assistant, the last three of which were spent in the busy A&E department of Milton Keynes University Hospital.

SETTING UP AS A REHAB FITNESS COACH

In 2018, keen to offer longer term support and to build deeper relationships with my clients than the constraints of the NHS allowed, I made the decision to become a personal rehabilitation trainer and coach, setting up 1st Step Rehab Fitness Support in Milton Keynes.

Now I develop carefully tailored and individualised programmes of exercise for my clients, working with them for as long as they need and supporting them every step of the way.

 HOW I CAN HELP

I work with people living with a wide range of health conditions including MS, fibromyalgia, pulmonary diseases, lower leg neuropathy, asthma, dementia, heart conditions, arthritis, frailty/falls and shoulder, hip, knee and back problems.

I have also supported clients to get active again following surgery, as well as those struggling with mental health problems like depression and anxiety.

In every case, the physical and mental impact my clients have experienced through training with me has, quite literally, transformed their outlook and improved their quality of life.

I never underestimate the challenges that my clients face and I understand that staying motivated can be difficult. But I’ll be there to support you and keep you on track when things get tough and before long you’ll be achieving more than you ever thought possible.
